Peoria Rivermen to Collect Stuff-A-Bus Donations at Game on Nov. 22 & 23

The Peoria Rivermen are hosting a Stuff-A-Bus night at their upcoming games Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23 against the Pensacola Ice Flyers. Fans who bring a donation of non-perishable food to the game will receive a raffle ticket to win a signed authentic PEANUTS Charlie Brown jersey. The jersey will be auctioned off during the 3rd period of the game.  One raffle ticket will be handed out per donated item – i.e. one fan can bring five items and receive five raffle tickets. Cash donations of $1 per raffle ticket will also be accepted for the purchase of additional food.

The game jerseys worn by the players on the ice will be auctioned off following Saturday’s game from ice level, with a portion of the net proceeds benefiting Stuff-A-Bus. Puck drop for both games are at 7:15 p.m. at the Peoria Civic Center (201 SW Jefferson Ave.), and the doors open at 6:15 p.m. For ticket information, please visit www.rivermen.net or call 309-676-1040.

For the past 37 years, CityLink has hosted the Stuff-A-Bus food drive to help eliminate hunger in Peoria. With a long partnership with Kroger to collect enough food to stuff a CityLink bus, the donations collected during the annual food drive benefit the food pantry at the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service. In a year, the Peoria Friendship House food pantry provides an average of 150,000 meals to those dealing with hunger in Peoria. The 2024 campaign began on October 18, and it will conclude on November 29. The goal this year is to collect 12 tons of food. Donations can be purchased or dropped off at all Kroger store locations in Peoria and East Peoria.
