CityLink Welcomes Sherry Thomas as New Director of Finance

CityLink recently welcomed Sherry Thomas as its new Director of Finance. She joins CityLink with more than 22 years of experience in the financial field with a strong focus on the public sector. Thomas has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting from Purdue University. While at the university, she was a Business Opportunity Program Scholar. Thomas has been a member of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada since 2008, and she has actively participated on the GFOA Treasury and Investment Management Committee.

In Thomas’s role as Finance Director at CityLink, she manages the overall budget, operations and activities of the Finance Department. Her responsibilities include leading the finance/accounting team, evaluating existing fiscal practices, producing financial reports and statements, overseeing and coordinating audits, managing tax information and calculations and overseeing cash management, investments and forecasting.

Thomas is a native and lifelong resident of Peoria, and she is a bilingual Spanish speaker. She is actively involved in the community as a committed member of her local church, serving in many capacities for the congregation. Other community activities she is involved with include Spanish translation ministry and outreach to marginalized immigrant communities. Thomas is also an inspirational writer and motivational speaker, specializing in Business Learning Series offerings for today’s finance professionals.
