CityLink Offering Free Rides on Nov. 1 & Nov. 8 in Exchange for Non-Perishable Food Donation

CityLink is offering free rides to passengers on CityLink fixed route buses with the donation of a non-perishable food item to benefit the 36^th Annual Stuff-A-Bus food drive on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 and again on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.  One donation is required per ride and there will be donation bins located on the buses to place the donations.  

For the past 36 years, CityLink has hosted the Stuff-A-Bus food drive to help eliminate hunger in Peoria.  With a long partnership with Kroger to collect enough food to stuff a classic CityLink bus, the donations collected during the annual food drive benefit the food pantry at the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service.  In a year, the Peoria Friendship House food pantry provides an average of 150,000 meals to those dealing with hunger in Peoria. The 2023 campaign began on October 20, and it will conclude on November 29. The goal this year is to reach a new record and collect 13 tons of food. Donations can be purchased or dropped off at all Kroger store locations in Peoria and East Peoria.
