CityLink Employee Takes New York Fashion Week

Carmen was featured in this year’s New York Fashion Week on September 3rd – 8th, 2024. Carmen recently joined the CityLink team on August 5th, but her passion lies within designing clothes. Carmen’s own clothing line dElic` was showcased in the Uniekemodeny Fashion Show.

Carmen’s stay in New York was anything but a holiday, as she was occupied each day preparing for her long-anticipated fashion debut. The first couple of days were spent casting models, attending a preview day for the press, meeting with influencers, models and designers. Also, New York Fashion Week executives wanted to see what would be presented in the fashion show later in the week. One of Carmen’s designs featured a stunning one-sleeved black velvet dress, accented with floral appliqués.

On the third day of Fashion Week, a black-tie event was held for the models and designers. For this event, Carmen designed a beautiful sparkling dress and even had the opportunity to be interviewed on the black carpet. In addition, between events, the group of models and designers headed to Times Square, where they held a photoshoot, shopped, and rode the subway, which was a first for Carmen.

Nevertheless, on the day of the fashion show, Carmen was surprised by how many models were interested in her designs. She arrived in New York with six models and had the chance to select six more to showcase her designs on the runway. Carmen couldn’t have wished for more than the opportunity to select from an exciting array of models and receive abundant praise from New Yorkers.
