CityLink Driver Builds Custom Cars and Breeds Bulldogs

Jay is a man of many talents and certainly keeps busy when he isn’t driving buses for CityLink. When he’s not behind the wheel, he can be found working on a very unique type of car that was immortalized in the 80’s.
The MWI Interceptor vehicle was made famous in the 1980’s movie, “The Wraith” with Charlie Sheen. Since then, Jay has been inspired to keep this type of car alive in the 21st century. His business, MWI Supercar, based in East Peoria, designs and manufactures turn-key turbo interceptors. The team there is able to build and design a turbo interceptor to the desired specs, creating a unique automobile.

Jay was able to show off his own MWI Interceptor at the Chicago Auto Show last month. It was featured in the ChiTown Exotic Car Group Booth from February 8-17, 2025, on display at McCormick Place Convention Center. The custom car even picked up some social media traction and coverage on the Chicago local news.

This isn’t the only side project that keeps Jay busy when he’s not on the clock at CityLink. His love for animals has helped him start another endeavor of breeding French Bulldogs. Jay was a vet technicians for his uncle and grandfather growing up, and has been breeding Frenchies for over 20 years. Now, he and his wife are dedicated to seeing that these puppies are well socialized, immunized, and ready to go to their forever homes.
