Shuttle Service for the Airport and County Jail During Detour – Routes 7 John Gwynn and 15 Lincoln
Posted: December 18, 2025
Starting January 2, 2026, Illinois Route 116 Harmon Highway west of Peoria will be closed for a significant Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) bridge replacement project. This critical infrastructure improvement will affect local traffic and transit services throughout 2026. The construction will take place near Airport Road. During this time, a dedicated shuttle service operated by CityLink will serve both the airport and the Peoria County Jail. Additionally, anyone traveling to Bellevue via Plank Road will need to use the shuttle. CityLink is committed to providing dependable transportation to the Peoria Regional Airport and Peoria County Jail throughout the construction. To reduce disruptions, this specialized shuttle express will run between the Downtown Transit Center and these two key locations, offering direct connections. Passengers can rely on consistent and dependable service despite the highway closure.
Please review the updated shuttle service route details for the scheduled detour from January 2 through December 26, 2026. Kindly note that this information may be subject to change as necessary.
