34th Annual Stuff-A-Bus Food Drive to Wrap Up on Nov. 30, 2021
The 34th Annual Stuff-A-Bus food drive benefiting the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service officially concludes with a press conference to announce the total weight of the food collected during the campaign on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the gymnasium at the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service. Representatives from CityLink, the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service and Kroger will be on hand to make remarks at the press conference.
After the press conference concludes, members of the Peoria Rivermen and Peoria Mustangs hockey teams and other volunteers will assist with unloading the donations from the bus and sorting the food.
For the past 34 years, CityLink has hosted the Stuff-A-Bus food drive to help eliminate hunger in Peoria. With a long partnership with Kroger to collect enough food to stuff a classic CityLink bus, the donations collected during the annual food drive benefit the food pantry at the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service. Since January of this year, the Peoria Friendship House food pantry has provided an average of 400 meals weekly to families who are dealing with hunger in Peoria.
Also participating as longtime partners in the Stuff-A-Bus food drive are Cumulus Radio, WYZZ Fox 43, WMBD CBS 31, CIPROUD.com, and the Amalgamated Transit Union #416.
