New Construction Project Update – Aug. 2023

This month’s construction blog post is one of the most exciting yet! There is so much happening at the new building site on the interior and exterior, and it’s clear to those who see it on a daily basis that we’re inching closer to it being completed. Windows are being installed on the first and second floors, and the exterior is getting to look more like it will when the building is complete. You’ll see pops of red color mixed in with the gray exterior. We are looking forward to our maintenance staff moving into the first floor before the end of this year! The new large parking lot is also nearing completion.

On August 15, staff from the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission (TCRPC) did a walkthrough of the new building with GPMTD staff, which included GM Doug Roelfs, AGM Nick Standefer, Scheduling Supervisor Yokita Johnson, and Finance Manager Bethany Potter.

• ANJ Electric – Poured duct bank in parking
• N.E. Finch – Grading northwest parking by Madison
• ICCI – Installing curb, gutter, and sidewalks
• East Moline Glass – Installing storefront frames & glass on 1st floor and 2nd floor windows
• Western Specialty Contractors – Installing air barrier, girts & insulation along with exterior panels
• ANJ, Tobin & PIPCO – Roughing in mechanicals throughout
• PIPCO – Installing lube reels and vehicle exhaust system
• Wright-Way Interior Systems – Framing & drywalling throughout
• Hanley (United Rebar) – Installed hand railing at mezzanine
• River City Construction (RCC)
  • NS Corp – Chassis wash connections, still pending final electrical
  • Tool carts delivered for Tool Room
• PIPCO – Hose reels installed in Tool Room
• Currently 58.47% complete on Phase B
