GPMTD Requests Rides on All Transportation Services be Limited to Essential Trips Only
(GPMTD) requests that rides on all transportation services be limited to essential trips only until further notice. This includes rides on CityLink fixed route bus service, CityLift paratransit service and CountyLink rural transportation service. Service will continue to be available for passengers working essential jobs and needing access to essential services, such as grocery stores, pharmacies and medical appointments.
“We are monitoring the COVID-19/coronavirus health crisis daily. We have been able to continue providing vital transportation services to many Peoria area essential workers during this crisis,” said CityLink General Manager Doug Roelfs. “We would like to stress that the service we are providing during this health crisis is intended for essential trips only. We emphatically implore passengers to only use our transportation services if they are working an essential job, or they need access to essential services,” continued Roelfs.
CityLink fixed route bus service continues to be on a reduced schedule on all routes. Weekday and Saturday service remain the same for lineups departing the Transit Center; however, the last lineup to leave the Transit Center departs at 8:45 p.m. on all routes that would normally have service later than the 8:45 p.m. lineup. Sunday service remains as scheduled. Passengers are encouraged to practice social distancing while riding the bus and stay seated six feet from fellow passengers.
All Customer Service window transactions continue to be suspended at the CityLink Transit Center (407 SW Adams St.) and Administrative office (2105 NE Jefferson Ave.) until further notice. The Transit Center lobby is still closed to the public until further notice; however, CityLink Customer Service staff is available to assist passengers via phone at 309-676-4040 during this time.
