GPMTD Requires Passengers to Wear Face Masks or Protective Face Covering
In accordance with Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations, the Greater Peoria Mass Transit District (GPMTD) is requiring all passengers to wear a face mask or an alternative protective face covering while riding all transportation services and/or while at the Transit Center facility (407 SW Adams St.) effective April 8, 2020 until further notice. This includes passengers riding CityLink fixed route bus service, CityLift paratransit service and CountyLink rural transportation service.
“We take recommendations from the CDC and local health departments seriously, which has led us to now require passengers to wear face masks or other protective face coverings while riding our transportation services or waiting for the bus at our Transit Center facility,” said CityLink General Manager Doug Roelfs. “We, once again, stress that the service we are providing during the COVID-19 health crisis is limited to essential trips only. Passengers should only use our transportation services if they are working an essential job, or they need access to essential services,” continued Roelfs.
CityLink fixed route bus service continues to be available on a reduced schedule. Passengers are strongly encouraged to practice social distancing while riding the bus and stay seated six feet away from fellow passengers.
Customer Service staff is available during designated business hours at 309-676-4040. Information is updated regularly on the CityLink COVID-19 Resource page, and CityLink social media pages (Facebook & Twitter).
