2020 Stuff-A-Bus Food Drive to Benefit Peoria Friendship House Exceeds Goal

The 33rd Annual Stuff-A-Bus food drive to benefit the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service was different from the other food drives that came before it. Normally a classic 1975 CityLink bus would be filled with non-perishable food donations, but due to COVID-19 restrictions, the 2020 Stuff-A-Bus Committee chose to go virtual this year. A goal was set to collected $10,000 in monetary donations. Those who wanted to contribute could donate at the participating Kroger stores or directly to the Peoria Friendship House.

The food drive officially kicked off on October 23, 2020 and concluded on December 1, 2020 when it was announced that a total amount of $17,393 had been collected over the course of the food drive! This far surpassed the goal of collecting $10,000.

To commemorate this unusual and challenging year, a video overviewing the 2020 campaign was made by our partners at WMBD/WYZZ TV. You can view this video below.

We want to thank everyone who contributed to make this year’s Stuff-A-Bus food drive a success, and to give a huge shout out to our partners Kroger, Cumulus Radio, WYZZ Fox 43, WMBD CBS 31 and CIPROUD.com, and the Amalgamated Transit Union Local #416!
