At the September 19, 2016 GPMTD Board of Trustees meeting, Heller Outdoor Group was awarded an exclusive contract to sell advertising on CityLift paratransit vehicles. Since the contract was awarded, President/Owner of Heller Outdoor Group, Neil Heller, has been very busy selling advertising wraps to local businesses in the Greater Peoria area. CityLink has added new 40’ New Flyer Xcelsior® diesel-electric hybrid buses to its fleet! The buses were manufactured by New Flyer in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Crookston, Minnesota, and they were purchased with the assistance of the Illinois Department of Transportation. The new hybrid buses have a completely different external and internal look than CityLink’s current fleet of buses.
The 29th Annual Stuff-A-Bus food drive had a successful weekend that saw the 1975 classic CityLink bus start to fill up with donations. Not only were people generously donating at the Kroger store locations as they began shopping for their Thanksgiving feasts, there were also two events held to benefit the food drive.

You may have recently noticed several bus signs that feature familiar faces to customers who ride CityLink. That is because CityLink decided to honor several of our employees who have served in the U.S. Military this year for Veterans Day by having bus signs made that feature those employees who wished to participate.
The signs do not feature all of our employees who have served in the military, but there were 14 current CityLink employees who chose to participate.
The 2016 Stuff-A-Bus food drive for Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service officially began on Friday, October 28 with a press conference at the Kroger store located at 801 W. Thanks to a generous donation by MV Transportation, the operator of CityLift, coupled with the assistance of Angel and Brian from CityLift and GPMTD’s Director of Mobility Andy Dwyer, some EP!C riders now are equipped with “Blue Loops”. Current and retired members of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local #416 participated in the annual 2016 Labor Day Parade & Picnic on Monday, September 5, 2016. The Labor Day Parade, with over 100 entries of various trade unions, began at 10 a.m. and started in front of the Fire Station on Monroe Street and ended at the Peoria County Courthouse. The Labor Day picnic was from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Riverfront Festival Park.
CityLink was recently asked to participate in the Peoria Area Convention and Visitors Bureau's latest "Tourin' the Town" video for August 2016. This month featured different modes of transportation available in the Peoria area.
