On Saturday, April 20, 2013, CityLink will promote the 5th Annual Passenger Appreciation Day in honor of Jerome Lilly by providing free rides to passengers all day on all fixed routes. Lilly was the beloved General Manager of CityLink, who passed away unexpectedly in 2007. April 20th is Lilly’s birthday anniversary. In addition, special Jerome Lilly coin pouches will be given away at the downtown Transit Center, located at 407 SW Adams St., starting at 9:00 a.m.
Transportation Coalition Working to Improve Accessibility

A task force formed last summer has been working diligently to improve access to transportation for individuals with disabilities in the greater Peoria area.
Under the umbrella of Accessible Transportation Coalitions Initiative (ATCI) offered by Easter Seals Project ACTION (ESPA), the committee has met monthly to address priorities established during a two-day workshop in August 2012.
The iCash event originally scheduled for March 25 has been re-scheduled for Monday, April 29. Representative Jehan Gordon-Booth (D-Peoria) will be teaming up with the Office of the Illinois State Treasurer to host an I-Cash Day at various locations throughout the Peoria area including the CityLink Transit Center at 407 SW Adams.

CityLink to Provide Shuttle for IHSA Basketball Tourney

CityLink will operate continuous bus shuttles from participating hotels to the Peoria Civic Center for the Illinois High School Association basketball games on Friday and Saturday, March 8 & 9 for the Class 1A and 2A games and Friday and Saturday, March 15 & 16 for the Class 3A and 4A games. Shuttles will pick up in 20-30 minute increments beginning at 9:30 a.m. and run through 11:00 p.m. each weekend.
CityLink officials re-opened the ticket office in the downtown Transit Center on Tuesday, February 26 after the facility had been closed for several days due to a leak in the sprinkler system.
The leak occured overnight at the Center located at 407 S.W. Adams, on Thursday, February 21causing water damage to the carpet in the ticket office. Due to the extent of the water in the office, restoration efforts took several days in order to remove the water and completely dry out the carpet tiles.

A leak in the sprinkler system at the CityLink Transit Center has resulted in temporary closure of the ticket office. The leak occurred overnight Thursday, Feb. 21 resulting in water running down the walls and onto the floors and carpet in the drivers’ lounge and the ticket office.
The Greater Peoria Mass Transit District (CityLink) marked the 100th birthday of Rosa Parks on Monday, February 4, 2013 with a celebration at the downtown Transit Center. Mrs. Parks has long been revered as a pioneer of civil rights after her refusal to give up her seat on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama on December 1, 1955. That action has become one of the most well-known symbols of the Civil Rights Movement.
Following a nationwide trend, the Greater Peoria Mass Transit District (CityLink) experienced an increase in total ridership during 2012. Ridership during the calendar year was 3,454,745, an 8.62% increase over the previous year’s number of 3,180,714.
